Ardgillan Castle is a big country house located on the coast in Balbriggan just beside Skerries. It is known for its picturesque views and it made the castle extraordinary therefore it received the status of Reginal Park opened to the public. It has 194 acres of pastureland with gentle slopes, woods and gardens. The park looks the Drogheda port.
Different kinds of mammals and birds can be found in woods of Ardgillan.
The two story building was constructed in 1738. The rooms of the ground floor are decorated in accordance with British colonial style, fashionable in Georgian period and Victorian era. The examples are Library, Dining Room and Morning Room. Every year the Castle holds exhibitions, which take place on its first floor, though the exposition of maps displays its items all the year round. It includes valuable item 'Down Survey of Ireland', dating back to the 17th century.
